BlackBerry 9720 Overview
BlackBerry are challenging the mid to high range smartphone industry with their new BlackBerry 10 devices, including the Z10, Q10 and Q5. However,there are reasons for retaining the previous system. The BlackBerry 9720 runs on BlackBerry's OS 7, the last version before the major redesign which introduced the BB10 system.
With BlackBerry OS 7 running the 9720, the device is aimed at being accessible for long term fans of BlackBerry and capable of providing a simple access point for new smartphone users. In addition business customers who may require certain features not yet supported by BB10,may discover that the 9720 offers a route to the newest hardware, without compromising on functionality.
The 9720 has a similar design to the BlackBerry Q5, opting for the newer keyboard layout with spaced buttons and a squarer look to previous Bold and Curve devices. The 480 x 360 pixel display is ample resolution given the smaller size of the screen - some of the real estate is taken up by the 4 physical keys between the screen and keyboard.
BlackBerry's famous optical trackpad also makes a return, allowing for pinpoint navigation and text selection when composing messages and emails with text entry being simple thanks to the front facing QWERTY keyboard.
A 5 megapixel camera, 3G connectivity and a dedicated BBM button all add to the functionality and capability of this device to provide a no nonsense smartphone for your mobile communication needs.
