New for 2016, Google have launched their own branded Pixel line of smartphones, following on from Pixel Chromebooks and other hardware.

The older Nexus brand of smartphones, running new Android versions but manucactured with a branded hardware partner has now finished.

Google Pixel smartphones may be manufactured through a hardware partner, however they will be branded with the Google badge and logo. They will also be running the most up to date version of Android, starting with 7.0.1 Nougat in late 2016, and always receiving monthly securty updates and major software revisions as soon as they are available.
